2360063 Stress Engineer

Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of satellite systems. Their activities cover complete civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation systems, science and navigation programmes, together with avionics and a wide range of space equipment and associated ground infrastructure.

They are recruiting for a Stress Engineer for the Ground Systems Group within the Earth Observation, Navigation and Science Division. The role would ideally suit a recent graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

This is a Contract position for 6 months and will be based in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

The role will involve structural analysis of payload components. Analyse for performance against random vibration and thermo-elastic environments to validate designs or propose new variants.

Providing support in topology optimisation for the development of metallic Additive Manufacturing products.

The successful candidate will be working to established process and procedures, reporting findings both verbally and in writing.

Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing design/optimisation would be advantageous.

Essential Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Finite Element Analysis experience.
Analysis of dynamic and thermo-elastic products

Desirable Requirements:
Trained in/experience of NASTRAN, FEMAP
Thermal analysis experience
Experience within the Aerospace industry or similar
