APPLICATION ENGINEER

The Role

To support continued business development, my client currently has a vacancy for an Application Engineer to join the Engineering team. This is a varied role working as part of an Engineering team to support the OEM customers and distribution network to bring projects from conception to production supply, applying the range of Hydraulic components and systems. The successful candidate will have a proven record working as a Hydraulics Engineer with project management experience, able to lead projects in a professional, controlled manner.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the Sales Managers and Key Account Managers with the technical aspects of developing new business opportunities.

* Interpret and develop customer specifications to realise prototype products for evaluation.

* Provide product training and support to OEM customers and distributors.

* Support customers during start up and commissioning of equipment using hydraulic components and systems.

* Support with optimisation of hydraulic components and systems to realise optimum performance and reliability.

* Able to use data logging equipment and interpret data for both commissioning, tuning and fault finding as required.

* Represent the company during technical meetings providing technical product presentations to potential customers.

* Provide necessary hydraulic product and systems support to all internal stakeholders (Test Rigs, Production Engineering, Production, Quality etc.)

* Participate in continuous development of the NPI process that ensures that the application satisfies the corporate strategic revenue and return on sales goals.

* Ensure that all new product introduction into the area of sales responsibility are fully assessed to the applicable NPI & APQP requirements so that an error free, on time delivery can be achieved.

Essential Candidate Attributes:

* Hands on experience working with hydraulic components and systems.

* The ability to interpret hydraulic system circuits.

* Able to write well structured, concise technical reports.

* Have working knowledge of APQP.

* 2D and 3D CAD knowledge.

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft software.

* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

* Project management experience.

* Ideally degree qualified Engineer, preferably with hydraulics qualifications.

* Willing to travel from time to time, some of which will be overseas.

* Full Driving licence.
