Assistant Corporate Accountant

My client, a high-profile construction business, is looking to recruit an Assistant Corporate Accountant to join their East London-based team.

The role will assist in the financial and corporate reporting of development entities in the UK and Europe. It will also be responsible for producing monthly management accounts.

Core responsibilities:
-Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for development activities
-Bank reconciliations
-Monitoring and reporting of WIP expenditure and expenses
-Management and analysis of monthly timesheets and recharge of salaries and expenses to projects
-Monthly P&L reviews with department heads including analysis of variances to budget
-Act as first point of contact for audit queries and collation of work papers
-Produce Finance Packs to be submitted to Group Quarterly, including preparation of a full work papers file for external audit
-Pre-development reporting
-Preparation of 8 weekly cash flow forecasts
-Review and posting of accruals
-Allocation of indirect overhead costs to projects
-Review and authorise invoices to be paid for appropriate coding and authority
-Preparation and submission of VAT Returns
-Review of current processes with a view to operating more effectively
-Ad hoc duties for Finance Manager and Financial Controller

Required experience:
-Part-Qualified / Newly Qualified / Qualified by experience

Desirable experience:
-Project-based construction experience
-JD Edwards experience
-Strong Excel skills
