Client Portfolio Manager

This is an unusual and exciting career opportunity for someone who has gained experience in professional accounting practice, dealing with the usual range of general practice duties and who wants to move on to a more challenging and rewarding role.

Working within an established accounting practice, you will provide a high quality experience to clients from sign up to delivery of accountancy services. This includes the provision of advice, proactive contact and dealing with reactive situations.

You will conduct initial consultations with new clients and follow up if required.

Complete anti-money laundering processes, risk assessments and Letters of Engagement.

Create and proactively maintain accurate client records on CCH and other software packages used by the practice.

Proactively request and chase for client records and documentation in order to achieve compliance and client deadlines.

Liaise internally and allocate work effectively in accordance with clients’ schedules and business needs.

Act as liaison between clients and colleagues to ensure that they have the right information to produce accurate accounts, complete bookkeeping and submit VAT returns.

Quality check work of staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness of work completed.

Prepare self-assessment tax returns for own portfolio directors and general personal tax clients.

Sign off Annual Accounts and tax returns with clients, highlighting key issues and making recommendations.

Build ongoing, long term and positive relationships with clients by maintaining regular contact through payroll services or other methods.

Manage Auto–Enrolment staging dates, assessments, communications and pension scheme administration on behalf of portfolio clients.

Maintain a holistic view of the portfolio and report on the business performance of the portfolio. Manage your workload, production and filing deadlines within your portfolio for Annual Accounts and VAT returns.

Educate clients constantly with regard to deadlines, bookkeeping systems, record keeping and other changes that are of relevance to their situation through regular telephone and email contact.

Coach clients on how to make the most of their bookkeeping software.

Liaise with HMRC and Companies House on behalf of clients to maintain accurate records and to deal with issues faced by customers.

Assist in the design of administration processes to ensure smooth running of the practice specifically aimed at the portfolio.

Liaise internally with the Director to provide feedback on staff performance and making recommendations for staff development.

Accurately deal with and journal all incoming professional clearance.

Maintain positive relationships with clients in order to cross sell and upsell products and services tailored to individual client needs.
