Commissioning Manager

Our client is a provider of power plant and equipment solutions, using a wide variety of waste derived fuels and they currently require a highly experienced Commissioning Manager to assist with the development of a new EFW power plant, including the management of all project commissioning and start-up activities in accordance with the schedule and budget. The role will involve regular on-site attendance in Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the process of construction completion turnover to start-up, start-up turnover to operations, and final turnover to the client.
• Manages priorities and activities of start-up staff.
• Develops and maintains a detailed start-up schedule and detailed set of start-up packages to track start-up completion and progress.
• Regularly liaises with client.
• Manages the budget and man hours.
• Develops and co-ordinates clear start-up procedures
• Plans and prepares for start-up activities, implementing a coordinated control program to ensure successful execution of operations.
• Creates and implements controls process for spares, consumables, outstanding work, and material deliveries.
• Coordinates the daily activities affecting and involving startup.
• Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports.
• Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities which will add value.

Role Requirements

• More than 5 years of startup experience, including one previous assignment as startup manager on an EfW power plant.
• Engineering Degree
• Knowledge of technical principles related to power plants.
• Experience in developing project instructions manual, contract documents, and startup guidelines
• Strong leadership and communication skills
