Estimating & Proposals Engineer

Reports to: Sales Director through local team leader

Location: Home Office, Newhaven

This role is an important one within the sales team, which is responsible for qualifying enquiries, estimating,

quotations and obtaining orders.

The work is varied and involves; liaising with clients, processing enquiries, estimating using the in-house estimating software system and formulating proposals.

You will be part of a team of four and will be office based although you may be required to attend off-site

meetings, should the need arise.

To prepare competitive proposals within the time requested and to service every customer promptly, reliably

and efficiently.

So that we are able to respond quickly and efficiently to requests for quotations, the role requires someone

that can develop proposals in word format, prepare timely and concise cost estimates, size the equipment

and formulate proposals.

Improve and develop the in-house estimating system for better efficiency.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

* Maintain an accurate cost base of components on the system in conjunction with the Procurement Department

* Maintain and develop the picture codes on the estimating system, used to calculate cost estimates

* Provide technical sales assistance to clients as and when required.

* Liaise with local & remote sales personnel, to identify new or potential customers, report progress on enquiries and develop strategies to obtain orders.

* Liaise with Engineering to develop the design proposal.

* Attend and report at sales meetings

* Assist with any sales related work that may be required in support of the sales objectives.

* Maintain a tidy and organised work area

General Responsibilities:
