BUUK Infrastructure is a provider of multi-utility networks in the UK, employing more than 1700 people and operating networks serving more than one and a half million homes. We design, install, adopt, own, and operate network infrastructure for all the utilities – heat, electricity, gigabit-capable fibre broadband, water, wastewater, and gas.

We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Engineer to join our Water team based at our Cardiff office location. In this full time, permanent role you will assist in the design assessment, modelling review and inspection of the wastewater distribution networks, and the off-site points of supply and discharge.

Responsibilities in this role will include –

* To undertake technical assessments of water and wastewater infrastructure designs, to produce asset adoption agreements, undertake site supervision and assist with the adoption of the networks

* To undertake water supply and wastewater modelling of proposed networks to ensure fit for purpose, ensuring they can be maintained in accordance with industry best practice and regulations

* Work closely with the construction and asset management teams, ensuring a smooth transition from construction to adoption

* Liaise with incumbent water companies on the delivery of off-site supply and discharge connections. Providing advice and technical knowledge to respond to project delays or issues throughout project delivery

* Support in delivering cost effective measures to benefit the management and operation of water and wastewater assets enabling the company to:

* Mitigate the risk of financial penalties being imposed by OFWAT

* Demonstrate compliance with best practice and regulatory requirements

* Ensure compliance with current Water Industry Regulations, group policies, British and International standards, industry codes of practice and safety procedures

* Seek and embrace opportunities to adopt new technologies to maximise financial and operational benefits

The successful candidate will hold an engineering or scientific qualification, ideally a course that has been recognised by a Chartered institution. You will be able to interpret data and display good time and project management skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to communicate (written and verbally) in a professional manner across all business levels.

Experience in the wastewater industry or experience in below ground asset design and installation would be a benefit but is not essential. As a company we will continue to support your learning and development to ensure you reach your full career potential.
