RSE are seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their team. Your role will Initially be to assist senior commercial staff with the administration of the financial and commercial aspects of projects and then develop personal competence to manage the financial and commercial aspects of projects. To adhere to current legislation, health & safety law, contract law and offer strategic guidance to Clients, including prioritizing spending, outsourcing etc.
Key Responsibilities, Duties & Tasks -
• Preparation of Activity Schedules, Bills of Quantities and Resource profiling
• Preparation of Applications for Payment for submission to Client(s)
• Reviewing project work scopes, notifying and preparing variations as necessary
• Subcontract administration including developing subcontract documents, reviewing and agreeing valuations, managing
variations and negotiating final accounts
• Preparation of project budgets and project cost reconciliations.
• Analysing the commercial progress of allocated projects working closely with the project delivery team.
• Preparing project cost and cash forecast projections
• Preparing internal reports such as financial reconciliation and anticipated project performance
• Negotiating final accounts with Client(s)
Person Specification -
Essential
• RICS recognised qualification or equivalent in one or more of the following – surveying, construction, civil engineering,
structural engineering
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to allow the preparation of Bills of Quantities/Schedules of Rates and other
such procurement documentation
• Work experience similar to the role and qualifications presented
• IT literacy with competency in Excel essential
Desirable
• Be working towards RICS professional status
• CSCS registered in a professional capacity
• Knowledge of and ideally experience in project cost control
• Knowledge of and ideally experience in cost/value reconciliation/reporting, project management, negotiating and
settlement of accounts
• Knowledge of the requirements to agree a contract final account including valuations & variations
