Hydraulic Technicians (Onshore)

Our client are market leaders in the design, engineering and manufacture of winches and deck machinery to the Energy and Marine industry and are based north of Aberdeen. They are currently recruiting for 2-3 Hydraulic Technicians for 6-8 weeks work(Possibly longer) based in North Aberdeenshire.

DESCRIPTION

The requirement is for 2-3 Hydraulic Technicians ideally with a time served background and experience within the Oil and Gas industry on deck machinery to be based in our clients workshop onshore to assist with the delivery of one of their key projects. Hours will be 8-5pm with an expectation of overtime available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out instruction according to Hydraulics Controller/Co-ordinator instruction/division manager
To liaise with Hydraulic Controller ensuring department input delivered in a timely manner to suit project requirements
To locate and inspect all purchased components and manufactured components are available and correct prior to assembly.
To monitor and maintain condition and department tools and special equipment
Attend client locations as required
Troubleshoot hydraulic systems as required
Installation of hydraulic components / systems
Repair of hydraulic components / systems
Conducting surveys.
Commissioning of systems
Fault finding and rectification
Hydraulic flushing
Compilation of reports

REQUIREMENTS

Recognised trade apprenticeship
Experience working on deck machinery or heavy machinery within the Oil and Gas industry desirable on or offshore.
Ability to read hydraulic/pneumatic system drawings and mechanical engineering drawings/plans
Experience in the disassembly, inspection, repair and test of hydraulic components
Ability to accurately identify hydraulic fittings and components
Ability to evaluate component condition
Offshore experience would be advantageous
Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
NFPC training courses in Hydraulic Engineering would be preferable
