Location Newport for 2 post & Abergavenny for 2 posts

Salary £89,378 per annum/pro rata

Wells-Brooks are currently recruiting for 4 new locum consultant paediatrician opportunities that have arisen to support the Paediatric service at the 2 sites pending reconfiguration of Paediatric services across the Health Board in 2021. Substantive posts have been approved and will be advertised shortly. Our client supports flexible working.

Duration: These posts will be for a 6 month 12month period. Substantive posts have recently been approved and will be advertised shortly.

There has never been a more exciting time to join our clients team as they pioneer new ways of delivering health services across South East Wales. An exciting set of opportunities have been developed in line with their unique and exciting Clinical Futures Model.

You will join the team of 12 consultant general paediatricians to provide a 1:8 ‘consultant of the week’ ward service and 1:8 consultant on-call for week day nights and weekends. There is a once monthly contribution to the day time Safeguarding Rota. There is no contribution to the Neonatal which has its own dedicated neonatology team and separate rota.

There will be the opportunity to contribute to the training and development of the junior doctors at tiers 1 and 2. The tier 2 (middle grade) rota is currently staffed by 8-9 Paediatric ST4-ST8 trainees provided by the Welsh Deanery.

Locum posts will also incorporate regular resident middle grade duties on weekday evenings and weekend days.

Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC.

Candidates for Consultant posts must also be on the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR(CP) date within 6 months of interview.
