1. CORE FUNCTION

•              To ensure that all goods are received, unloaded, checked, delivered and stored in the appropriate locations

•              To identify and accept the appropriate goods, liaising with carriers, suppliers and internal customers as appropriate

•              To be actively involved in the improvement of the cell team and team processes through the application of Lean System (ELS) principles.

2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

•              To offload and check the quantity and quality of goods received against the paperwork, unpack and store safely in the designated location ensuring items are correctly identified by computer generated labels (Job Knowledge)

•              To record all transactions in MFG/PRO. (Productivity)

•              To notify delivery variances/damage to material planners and/or suppliers via electronic email (Quality)

•              To comply with all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures (safety glasses / shoes / PPE / work wear etc.) reporting any relevant issues to line supervision including supervising drivers whilst on site. (Safety)

•              Carry out safety checks on the FLT’s as required. (Safety)

•              To train all existing, new or transferred employees (temporary and permanent labour), within the scope of a Logistics Clerk M/F role, where the individual is a recognised  trainer. (Productivity)

•              To cover any activities as required by the  Line Manager irrespective of current job role and product group, particularly with assisting in the Dispatch Area. (Communication & Teamwork)

•              To carry out dispatch duties in line with Eaton processes as required by business need

•              To utilise  Lean System (ELS) principles and work practices to identify opportunities for improvement with the objective of achieving personal, departmental and plant goals. (Productivity & Teamwork)

•              To perform housekeeping, 5S and TPM activities as appropriate. (Safety, Quality, Productivity)

3. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION REQUIREMENTS

•              Ensure that customers both Internal and external are provided with a timely, quality service (Quality)

•              Builds and reinforces our reputation with internal & external customers of our world-class manufacturing facility (Commitment)

•              To reconcile product, product documentation and to store and distribute products to meet customer needs, conducting cycle counting and/or stock checks as required / requested. (Job Knowledge)

•              To perform and maintain all goods inwards tasks according to Area and Customer specifications (Job Knowledge)

•              To perform all quality assurance functions, SOP requirements, process controls and inspection frequencies to assure goods inwards quality.  Ensuring that all shortages, incorrect documentation, defective material and parts are reported to line supervision (Quality)

•              To maintain process control and all relevant documentation (Job Knowledge)

4. CRITICAL SKILLS

•              Able to operate all Fork Lift Truck equipment relevant for area including carrying out appropriate maintenance and daily checks (Job Knowledge & H & S)

•              Demonstrate a proficiency in inventory management  identifying product parts, packing, labeling and dispatching to customer requirements, utilising work-based PC programmes. (Job Knowledge)

•              Demonstrate competency in fulfilling customer order requirements and the deadlines involved in supplying customers on time and with the right parts (Drive for Results)

•              Ability to identify faults in product, documentation and equipment and report to Line Supervision. (Job Knowledge & Quality)

•              Capable of training others where the individual is a recognised Trainer. (Communication & Teamwork)

•              Demonstrates flexibility within the work area, irrespective of job role. (Commitment)

•              Demonstrate involvement in and contribution to Lean activities including the use of Kan ban, generating ideas for improvement in work areas, identifying and carrying out 5S activities and taking ownership of housekeeping within the work area. (Safety, Quality, Productivity)

•              Demonstrates proficiency in the use of a variety of Fork Lift Truck and handling equipment (Job Knowledge)
