We are now looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join our team in Birmingham.

The Role
As our Management Accountant, you will provide support to key decision makers on all financial aspects of Company strategy and performance, and be responsible for the flow of accurate and timely financial information to the Finance Manager and senior management team and, where necessary, external stakeholders including customers, suppliers and financial institutions.

You will be expected to:

* Manage and develop the Finance team.
* Prepare the Company’s cashflow forecasts and day-to-day cash management, in line with a commercial finance facility (ID).
* Support the production of the monthly management accounts, quarterly financial reporting and annual statutory accounts.
* Support the Finance Manager in ensuring the financial and management reporting to the Directors, Executive team and Senior Management team is performed accurately and to prescribed timetables.
* Prepare the weekly dashboard to chart financial performance, in addition to ad-hoc analysis to support departmental performance measurement.
* Develop and report KPI’s for the various businesses, understand monthly performance and provide commentary on key monthly variances for the profit and loss and balance sheet.
* Prepare, manage and complete all balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis including accruals, funding and inter-company.
* Ensure the regulatory and compliance requirements of all statutory bodies are met in relation to financial matters.
* Assist with the management of the Company’s insurance requirements and policies, in tandem with associated professional advisors.
* Support the commercial process with key customers in terms of preparing financial information for tenders and applications.
* Build and maintain professional working relationships with all key internal departments and external stakeholders.

The Candidate
To be considered for our Management Accountant role, you will have the following skills and experience:

* Educated to Degree level.
* Part qualified member of accountancy body (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
* Worked within a similar SME (preferred).
* Experience of having worked within an accountancy practice (desirable).
* Management of a team of professional staff (essential).
* Flexibility & Change – The ability to adapt and respond positively to a variety of situations and people in order to meet changing priorities in the role. Having the ability to change focus throughout the day/week dependent on the delivery requirements for the role.
