Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineers

Bridgnorth Aluminium Ltd has firmly established itself as a trusted supplier of rolled Aluminium products since 1933. Our knowledge and experience spans many decades, evident in the work we do today to which we supply the Lithographic, Food, Foil and Automotive Sectors , of Industry. We are a 74 acre site which is located; as the name implies, in the historic town of Bridgnorth and within a 25min commute from towns such as Telford, Shrewsbury, Kidderminster and Wolverhampton, 40mins from Birmingham, Worcester, Stafford and Redditch.

We are recruiting for a both Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineers to work within our Aluminium Manufacturing Facility. The Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineers will work to ensure uninterrupted operation of the assets by reducing unplanned downtime, equipment failures and breakdowns while ensuring all assets are maintained adequately to operate within their designed capabilities. All our engineers are employed to reflect their specialism and therefore are not ‘multi-skilled’ as our maintenance department makes up the largest team within our manufacturing facility here at Bridgnorth Aluminium Ltd.

Working a 4 on / 4 off (2 days / 2 nights / 4 off) shift pattern they will report into the Area Supervisors and Maintenance Managers.

Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineers - Main tasks will include:

* Coordinating with colleagues in the engineering department to implement site wide maintenance strategy

* Overseeing maintenance or emergency repairs/inspections for either Electrical or Mechanical related issues - dependant on your role

* Root Cause Analysis (RCA) studies; implementing corrective actions where necessary

* Ordering equipment, critical spare parts’ identification and stock maintenance

* Working towards the consolidation of the maintenance budget and forecasting process

* Working with suppliers and contractors to organise emergency or planned repairs of assets/equipment

* Developing Standard Operation Procedures for maintenance tasks/jobs

* Working towards the implementation of maintenance work performance monitoring and key performance indicators (KPIs)

Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineers - The successful candidate will need:

* Essential - A full Apprenticeship in either Mechanical or Electrical or Engineering related discipline as a minimum

* A working knowledge of relevant engineering principles and practices demonstrated in a relevant industry in engineering maintenance or reliability fields

* The ability to accurately compile, interpret and make use of data and other information

* The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

* Experience of Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques

* The ability to read, understand and interpret technical reports and mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic drawings and diagrams – specific to your trade

* The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally

* Good working knowledge of CAD package(s)

* A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude, integrity, professionalism with a creative and adaptive approach under pressure

Due to the nature of the business, the incumbent should be aware that under special circumstances (e.g., breakdowns, outage periods, etc.) longer working hours or working over weekends/holidays might be required to fulfil the duties of the role.
