Payroll Clerk

A flexible part-time working opportunity with a well-established payroll company based in central Eastbourne.
 
Our client is looking for someone with excellent payroll experience gained in either private practice or another payroll firm.
 
Purpose of Role of the Payroll Clerk:
To fully process payroll for clients on a monthly weekly, four weekly or weekly basis depending on client requirements. To provide reports in format required by client.
Payroll:
Process all starters and leavers on payroll
Process all changes associated with employment changes and variations to contracts
Create and maintain up to date files for all employee benefit information
Collate monthly timesheets for relevant clients and process in line with company requirements.
Process through payroll any employee benefits including but not limited to BUPA, car allowance,
Calculate & process all statutory payments and deductions through payroll e.g.: SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP, Shared Parental Leave, attachment of earnings
Ensure any salary sacrifice schemes treated correctly
For each client maintain a monthly payroll file for all new starters, leavers, changes and bonuses
Process and submit monthly payroll including statutory year end returns and P60s
Reconciliation of each pay element month to month in each payroll prepared
Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating all payroll processes
Liaise with HM Revenue and Customs where necessary
AE – pension assessment, AE letters, upload AE files to pension providers
Check and submit RTI information.
Key skills & competency requirements:
Experience of using SAGE is advantageous, however, extensive experience of a computerised payroll system is essential.
Knowledge of HM Revenue and Customs’ current legislation e.g. NI rates, statutory payments etc.
Pensions and auto enrolment knowledge essential
Strong Excel skills are essential.
Good Outlook and Word skills desirable
Flexibility with hours and peak periods of work is essential.
Experience of HR administration is desirable although not essential.
 
On average 16 hours per week, this can be flexible to fit in with other your commitments; May suit a mother/father looking to return to work around the school run.
