QA Manager

THE ROLE:

To assist the Quality Control Manager in the construction quality control program design, monitoring and assurance for the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer, action and monitor the project quality control plan in coordination with the Quality Control Manager, the Project Manager and the client's requirements
• Create, update and malntaln the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports
• Enforce project quality control plans and associated standards
• Review submittals for conformance with project specificatlons by direct review and by leveraging the knowledge and experlence of others in the project team when necessary
• Maintain continuous presence at the site during progress of the work
• Provide written QC reports that reinforce activities that are belng constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner
• Document and distribute QA punch lists and the completion of these lists
• Responsible for malntaining QA procedures on slte and keeping all relevant records, files and reports for inspections
• Assisting individuals on site In respect of QA procedures that were set up and are to be followed, monitoring their work and bring up the standards where necessary
• Attend preconstruction meetings where required and assist QC Manager with all Quality issues
• Document such meetings in QC report
• Assist Project Team with any QA question(s)
• Maintain continuous reporting to QC Manager and Project Manager
• Assist with relevant project needs where necessary
• Confront non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner
• Prepare and track all RFI's and DCVR's for submisslon to the client and the designer
• Attend preconstruction meetings with new and existing subcontractors prior to the start of each new phase of the work to discuss issues that affect quality
• Maintains the project "as-built" drawings on a daily basis
• Schedule, document the results of, and maintain a log of all code and independent inspections that are required
• Clearly document, correct and re-inspect all non-conformances prior to completing the work
• Document final inspections

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Educated to degree level
• At least 2-3 years experience in construction industry preferred
• Ability to assist in developing and implementing quality assurance programs
• Excellent IT skills and proficiency using MS Office package
• Good management skills, ability to prioritise work
• Good report writing skills
• Ability to conduct research and present findings in constructive way
• Attention to detail
• Can do attitude and with a flexible approach
• Reliable and able to work under minimum supervision
• Ability to work as a part of the team as well as under own initiative
• Good communication skills
