Senior Consultant - Safety Case & Technical Lead

An opportunity is available for a Senior Consultant - Safety Case & Technical Lead to work with a company that provides consultancy services to nuclear projects across the globe.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role is a marriage of strong project management awareness complied with the technical expertise to deliver a high quality and bespoke consultancy service to the clients on-site at various locations. This will include decommissioning, decontamination, transportation, human factoring (ergonomics), and waste management best practices to which you will need to have hands-on experience in on or more of these fields as a safety expert.
You will need to be able to deliver reasoned arguments coherently to the clients, which encapsulates the essence of a true consultancy service. Whilst highly skilled experts in their fields will support you, you will need a level of autonomy that allows you to make critical decisions backed by technical expertise.
The project management elements will involve delivering the consultancy services on time and to budget without compromising the quality of your work. The project platforms are of a small to medium size and any formal project management qualifications will certainly help, but are not essential if you have worked in this environment before.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Demonstrate direct involvement in the production of all major elements of safety cases in particular fault analysis and the identification and specification of safety systems (engineered and procedural)
* Provide clear evidence of being directly involved in the integrated design process and interfacing with engineers and human factors specialists
* Demonstrate involvement in the production of complicated/high category safety cases under the supervision of an experienced safety case project manager
* Ability to project manage the production of less complex/lower hazard category safety cases
* Clear evidence of interfacing with the client on matters related to the safety case.
* Production and support of the development of bids and proposals
* Development of skills in more junior members of the team
* Experience in the nuclear sector or in a similar industry
* Ability to develop technical work and oversee the work of others
* Able to lead interactions with customers
* Flexible, innovative and able to work on a number of varied projects
* Will need to be able to obtain appropriate security clearance
* A degree in a physical science, chemistry or engineering
