Our client is a growing and leading provider of Fire, Security and BEMS (Building Energy Management) Systems. They are looking to recruit a Technical Support Engineer that has a background within fire & security. You will be assisting and developing the engineering team and will be based both in the office and on site, providing remote and onsite support where needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take their first step into a supervisory role within a growing business.

Job Description

* Assisting and developing the engineering team

* Providing technical support to engineers and visiting site to assist when needed

* Supporting/shadowing junior staff with a variety of Service, Small works and Commissioning works

* Assisting with the planning of staff training and working closely to develop our trainee engineers

* Work will be split evenly between site and the field (usually around the West Side of the M25/Camberley)

* Working with new engineers to train them on company procedures and systems

* Conducting fault-finding, take-over services and technical surveys if required

* Assisting with technical surveys for potential new customers and providing pre-sales support

* Assisting engineers by pre-configuring systems and compiling/reviewing configuration files

* Working to develop and maintain a company training room and delivering in-house training

* Shadowing and supporting new starters as part of the on-boarding process in their first month

* Managing the use of the engineer’s configuration file archive and site information drive

* Working with the compliance team to ensure engineering standards remain high

* Providing engineer I.T support, including setting up and repairing engineer laptops

* Completing technical assessments of new customers and documenting systems/processes

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualification Required

* Experienced working within the Fire & Security industry

* Strong exposure to installation, commissioning and service works

* Multi-disciplined engineer. Someone who can pick up and learn new technology

* Good working knowledge of Fire and Security regulations and codes of practice

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualification Required

* Experience with a range of systems. Ideally Morley, Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Galaxy, Texecom, ACT, Salto, Paxton, Avigilon, Hikvision, Dahua, Panasonic preferred, but all training provided for the right candidate
