Upholsterer

Our client based in Trowbridge are looking for an Upholsterer to join their team.

Working within the Upholstery and Finishing department you will work within a team of upholsterers ensuring HSQE requirements are adhered, OTIF production and quality targets are achieved ensuring the expectations of the clients are continually surpassed.

Acting as advocate for continuous improvement you will work within your team on Kaizen and other improvement projects.

Training and development of others within the team in all aspects of upholstery along with assisting with developing the working area, processes and SOP's and providing technical advice.

Key Responsibilities:

Exceptionally Strong Upholstery skills
Direct responsibility for all aspect of quality and performance
Clear and active motivational communication
Full understanding of the company quality systems, managing any quality issues establishing root cause and measures to prevent re-occurrence
Active Mentor for Apprentices and trainees
Providing technical advice to all internal departments
Deadline accountable and Meticulous attention to detail
Assist with reporting and maintaining of KPI's
Positive, can do attitude
Ensuring full compliance with Health and Safety and taking appropriate action here necessary
To provide a timely query resolution service on all issues

Key Performance Indicators:

Swift turnaround of all w/o's in line with customer requirements
Positively contributes towards Upholstery OTIF and Operational OTIF (on time in full)
Daily attainment to plan
Minimise waste
Reduce the number of quality customer complaints
Maintains accurate up to date records on company performance (KPI's)
Person Specification:

Essential Qualities

Minimum 2 experience of working as a team leader or equivalent position
Minimum 5 Years' experience of Upholstery
Strong & effective motivational leader with proven ability to build and develop a team
Demonstrable history of ability to work within a fast-paced role, multi-tasking & prioritising
Ability to develop strong internal relationships
Ability to handle matters with sensitivity, diplomacy and integrity
Experience of having worked within an upholstery/manufacturing-based business

Desirable Qualities

Minimum 1 years experience of maintaining KPI's and office administration
Strong IT skills including intermediate level Excel
Strong numeric skills including good attention to detail and data interpretation
Salary: Dependant on experience
