An Inspector is required in Bury on a contract basis.

Responsibilities:

* To ensure products fabricated by the company and its sub-contractors/suppliers meet the quality standards as described by the company the client and industry standards.
* Provide assistance to the Quality Manager in maintaining and improving a quality management system which meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 and other management specifications.
* To generate and maintain inspection records with assistance from the senior welding inspector in accordance with the latest company procedures and client requirements.
* To confirm the dimensional accuracy of company products during key stages of manufacture and prior to despatch.
* To ensure the aesthetic finish of company products is maintained throughout manufacture, storage, packaging, loading and delivery.
* Ensure the quality of welding on all fabrications is of the highest standard.
* Support the senior welding inspector in preparing products for client inspection within manufacture and at sub-contractor premises.
* Conduct detailed visual weld inspections on mild and stainless steel high integrity fabrications.
* Conduct dye penetrant inspections on Stainless Steel fabrications according to company inspection and test procedures.
* Conduct dimensional inspections on all company products in accordance with industry specifications and company standards and manufacturing details.
* Visually inspect the aesthetic finish of company products in accordance with industry specifications, company standards and client expectations.
* Liaise with senior welding inspector and workshop supervision regarding quality, welding and NDT issues.
* Check material certification and quality of goods received inspection.
* Ensure welders are correctly qualified in accordance with approved weld procedures and welding is being completed in accordance with the stated parameters.
* To provide a point of contact with the client when inspection and test during manufacture are required and goods require formal release prior to despatch.
* Occasional requirement for inspections to be conducted on site or at a supplier premises.

Requirements:

* CSWIP 3.1 or PCN level II in welding inspection and dye penetrant inspection.
* Computer literate with the ability to complete records accurately using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) tools.
* Ability to read detailed drawings and correctly interpret dimensional and aesthetic requirements.
* Knowledge of quality, environmental and health and safety standards and industry specifications for ductwork construction and associated ventilation equipment.
* Detailed knowledge of welding and NDT standards and client specifications for both low and high integrity ductwork.
* Proactive flexible approach to maintaining and continually improving the company profile.
