The Kate Middleton Jelly Bean
A British man who found a jelly bean that looks (sort of) like Kate Middleton is selling it for an expected £500.
In a turn of events that shows quite how mad the world is more than anything else, the man- Wesley Hosie- has gained internet fame with his unique jelly bean.
In an interview with British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, he revealed:
"As [my girlfriend] opened the jar, I saw her (the jelly bean) immediately. She was literally lying there staring back at me."
He now plans to put the item on eBay and hopes it will fetch up to £500 (though ‘hope’ and ‘expect’ are very different words).
Fake Web Address
An interesting side story to this has also developed over the last few days after a fake web address for the article spread throughout Twitter. British newspaper The Independent, put up the original story about the jelly bean, only for one of their readers to create a funny fake URL for it. The fake then spread throughout the internet as people believed it was the real address written by a bored journalist.
The address read (with the swear words cut out): “/utter-PR-fiction-but-people-love-this-****-so-****-it-lets-just-print-it”. The paper was then forced to make an apology the next day.
