In order for the video to reach large pockets of audiences on YouTube, it needed Western exposure, American urban artist T-Pain tweeted about 'Gangnam Style' well before it was on the radar of non-Koreans, this was one of the key events that contributed to PSY's eventual worldwide viral success.
