You should apply directly to the institution that you have chosen. Unlike academic courses at universities or colleges in the UK, you will not need to try and persuade them to accept you through an application form, but most courses will generally accept anyone whilst they still have space on the course.

The cost of English Language courses for foreign students really does vary hugely depending on the type and length of course and the institution in which you do it. The best way to give you some average costs is to look at an example.

For this we will use King Street College in London to give sample costs. Standard full time English classes (15 hours a week) start at £70 per week or £555 for a 10 week programme, part time courses (4 hours a week) cost £275 for 12 weeks and intensive courses (30 hours per week) are £1,293 for 10 weeks.

You do not need any qualifications to gain acceptance onto an English language course, but most courses have limited places so make sure you apply early.

When deciding where to study an English language course in the UK, you have a number of different options. The first is a private language school where you can take full time, part time, long term or short term courses depending on what suits you best.
