Ever since it opened in the 1960's, the University of Sussex has been committed to an international outlook when it comes to its students. It has partnerships with other universities around the world and one in seven of the university's undergraduates spend part of their degree overseas.

One of the university's best features is its location. It is set on a parkland campus that has everything you need for your studies all in close proximity, as well as sports facilities and accommodation. What's more, the campus is set on the edge of a National Park offering some of the most breath-taking scenery in England.

However, the other big benefit is that the campus is just outside the city of Brighton. Known as one of the youngest and coolest cities in Britain, Brighton is the perfect student city. With over 200 bars, a huge music scene and endless top restaurants & cafes, Brighton has everything. There is also the added bonus of having one of the UK's most popular beaches, alongside the famous Brighton Pier.

Plus there are regular direct trains to London that can get you to the Capital in an hour.

Loughborough University

Dating back to 1909 Loughborough University is located in Leicestershire, in the East Midlands of England. The university is consistently ranked among the top 20 universities in the UK.

The University is by far the best known British university for its sports courses. You cannot mention Loughborough without thinking of sport, where they excel is a wide-range of areas. However, whilst the University specialises in sport, it is also highly ranked for a number of other subjects, particularly in Engineering and Technology.

The University prides itself on the experience it offers its students, and has been voted England's Best Student Experience for six consecutive years, as well as winning the first ever Times Higher award for ‘outstanding support for overseas students'.

Loughborough is situated on the largest single-site campus in the UK, with outstanding facilities. Students enjoy a much lower cost of living than in larger UK cities, but are still only 90 minutes from London by train.

University of Southampton

The University of Southampton is a relatively new university, founded in 1952. Despite its relative youth, it has achieved a lot, and was one of the founding members of the elite Russell Group of British universities, therefore showing a commitment to the highest levels of academic excellence in both teaching and research.

The University comprises of six campuses- four main ones in the city of Southampton, one in nearby Winchester, and an international branch in Malaysia.

The University's location offers you the best of both worlds- Southampton is a thriving city with 200,000 inhabitants (and just an hour away from London), but it is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the New Forest, as well as beaches. Southampton is known as a safe city with plenty of shopping and sports facilities, and its large student population guarantees a good selection of bars and clubs. 

One added bonus at the University is that all international students have guaranteed accommodation during their first year studies in the Halls of Residence.

University of Leicester

The University of Leicester is a research-led university that was founded in 1921. It is ranked among the best universities (17th) in the UK and is notably famous for the invention of genetic fingerprint and (more recently) for the discovery of the remains of King Richard III.

The main campus is located close to the centre of Leicester and new international students are guaranteed accommodation if they apply in time.Both the University Library and the Students' Union have recently  been refurbished as part of a £300 million campus redevelopment plan.

Leicester is the tenth biggest city in the UK, and is famous for is cultural diversity, with many different racesand religions prevalent. For example, the city's Diwali celebrations are the biggest outside of India. The campus also offers good transport facilities with nearby motorways, and a major railway station.

University of Bristol

The University of Bristol was funded in 1909 and is now known as one of the best universities in the UK and is internationally renowned.

The university offers courses for international students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level taught by highly talented staff. It provides outstanding teaching and research with top facilities in a great academic environment which is informed by world-leading research.

The university's main campus is located five minutes walk from the city center with facilities spread over a considerable geographic area. The city of Bristol is a friendly and lovely environment with plenty of green spaces and a lively harbour. It is a perfect student city with plenty of new bars, clubs, shops and restuarants to discover.

The university offers a whole range of courses, and is in the top five in the country for computer science (3rd), electrical engineering (3rd), civil engineering (5th), biological sciences (3rd), mathematics (3rd), and psychology (4th).
